Physical Therapist
Treatment Philosophy
The human never works in isolation, nor should it be treated as such. Life's stressors cause the neuromuscular system to fall into predictable patterns of compensation. Physical therapy corrects these patterns when they cause pain and/or limit performance.
Movement assessments usually performed at the cranium, thorax and pelvis can identify these patterns. Additional factors may contribute to dysfunction such as vision, hearing, thought patterns and mental or physical trauma. Frequently if physical therapy fails, patients are given medications to mask the symptoms or surgery is recommended. Although certain conditions must be surgically treated, many times an interdisciplinary approach can address the root cause of dysfunction without the side effects of medication or risks of surgery. I help the patients where "traditional" physical therapy has failed; where scans have repeatedly come up negative but they still have pain.
In addition to personalized one-on-one physical therapy, I have included a list of outstanding clinicians that I have met with who share similar philosophies as well as educational resources.
